Why reporting is the operations team's heaviest week

The quarterly reporting cycle is the moment every operational shortcut comes due. NAVs computed in one spreadsheet feed performance metrics computed in a second, capital accounts maintained in a third, and an LP-specific narrative drafted in Word. Each year someone introduces a new institutional LP who expects ILPA-formatted capital account statements, and the back office invents a new export for them. By year five the reporting workflow is unauditable, the auditor's first question every year is "can you show me how this number on page 11 ties back to the GL?"

For Dutch GP teams operating under both RJ 610/615 and increasingly IFRS for institutional vehicles, the format question multiplies the work: the same underlying data has to surface in two different presentations, and any error in either is an audit finding.

Reports as a view of the ledger, not a parallel universe

Reporting in Caproom is a view of the ledger rather than a parallel spreadsheet: the numbers in a report are the numbers in the books, and refreshing a report before publication re-reads the current state instead of re-keying it.

Per-investor personalisation is automatic. Each capital account statement reflects that investor's class, their contributions and distributions, and any side letter terms that apply to them. Reports render in English or Dutch and in Dutch GAAP or IFRS presentation, with reporting-currency translation where the investor differs from the fund.

Set a cadence per fund and reports are generated, validated and published on the period close, with ILPA-formatted export available for institutional LPs. Every published report is archived together with the data it was rendered against, so you can re-open a prior quarter and see the numbers exactly as they stood.

Compliance & evidence

Reports support the periodic disclosure obligations that apply to a Dutch fund, in particular AIFMD Article 22 and, where relevant, the SFDR periodic disclosures, in Dutch GAAP or IFRS presentation and in the ILPA template for institutional LPs. The lineage from report line to ledger entry is preserved for auditor walk-through.

Frequently asked questions

Which reporting standards are supported?

ILPA templates, IFRS and Dutch GAAP (RJ 610/615), plus AIFMD Annex IV reporting to DNB in XML and CSV.

Do the figures come from the ledger?

Yes. Reports are built from the integrated general ledger and the capital accounts rather than a separate spreadsheet, so the reconciliation holds by construction.

Can reports be generated on a schedule?

Yes. Reports can be scheduled quarterly or annually and released to the investor portal after approval.

Can I issue investors a tax statement?

Yes. A dividend note, income allocation or exemption notice is generated per investor, depending on the fund structure.
